How is the neighborhood you live
in? Is it being gentrified? If you don't know what gentrification means here's a
brief description it means the restoration of run-down urban areas by the
middle class. In most of the neighborhoods I’ve lived it always seemed like
there was never going to be gentrification. In all of the neighborhoods I’ve
lived in they are run down there’s a lot of crime in the area and growing up in these
type of areas it never affected the way I live it always made me try to become a
better person and be a good role model for my sister. So I never got to any
type of trouble when living in these types of areas I actually had a lot of
good experiences always having fun with my family and friends. There was
probably a couple times where I did get scared living in these neighborhoods
for example seeing a dead body right in front me that didn’t affect me mentally
but it did always make me be aware from that point on. Another example is when I
lived in Richmond and when my mom was getting home some body pulled a gun on my
mom. Now that really affected me because I love my mom a lot she’s somebody big
in my life so I wouldn’t want anything to happen to her. So those are just two
things that made me think a lot. So overall I never saw gentrification
happening in the places I’ve lived
Despite where I lived, it didn’t
change me in a bad way. I think it helped me become a better person because I learned
a lot through the neighborhoods I’ve lived in. Not everything was bad about it I
had good times also it's just at times there will be bad situations. I think
anywhere because it’s not guaranteed that a good neighborhood will always be
good things will always end up happening. So I think I ended up turning out well.
